Instead of giving you a week by week account of our ministry activity, I am just going to give you an overall view of the past month and a half! Obviously, by looking at our calendar, we have been extremely busy with concerts, speaking engagements and revivals. The month of May is just a blur to us, but we can tell you this – what incredible services that the Lord gave us! Between leading worship, singing specials and encouraging people through testimony and the Word, we are quite grateful for the time spent investing in the body of Christ. There is no feeling more satisfying than to build the Kingdom for the honor of Jesus’ name. We had received many testimonies of how the Lord has worked in the lives of people and challenged them to a deeper, richer faith. That is the outcome we desire!
In the midst of everything else, the kids and I were racing towards the ever-magical date of June 6th – the last day of school! One of the greatest blessings of homeschooling to us is the last day of the school year! The kids did great this past year and I am thrilled with what they accomplished academically. We printed report cards – very important for “graduating students” to the next grade - and I am happy to report the year ended with KC receiving 4 A’s and 3 B’s while Kennedie had straight A’s. Kennedie’s first question was, “Are those my actual grades, or did you just give me straight A’s because you are my mom?” No, she actually earned those grades and I did the math (twice per subject!) We have already ordered and received their curriculum for next year (grades 7 and 4) and believe it or not, they are excited. Okay, Kennedie is more excited than KC, but nonetheless, I have never felt more prepared for a school year. With a busy summer upon us, I did not want to be choosing curriculums in August. Just another way the Lord has stretched us and provided everything we need to live abundantly in Him. Frequently, people ask me if homeschooling is hard – of course it is hard! But, the Lord equips those He calls and this is a huge part of our calling.
We were scheduled to leave for California at the end of June. Our plans have changed and we cancelled our trip. Mainly because the price of fuel is hitting us hard and after praying about it, the directors of SEP camp in Big Bear, CA agreed that maybe this year they should find alternative worship leaders. We are thankful that we were able to reschedule the other two events we had during the tour, but disappointed that we will not be with our dear SEP friends that we cherish so dearly. Obviously, the Lord has provided for us so miraculously, but it just did not seem wise to try to make this trip. Our apologies go out to the wonderful SEP staff that has to pick up the slack for us! We love you! Mark and Anne Stapleton – wonderful friends of ours – who are the camp directors, were more than understanding and once again, acted in love and Christian brotherhood.
Randy has already been blessed with filling in the two Sundays that immediately opened up due to canceling the California trip. Thank you, Lord!
We pray that your summer is going well so far and we thank you for your prayers and endless support. Please continue to ask the Lord to use us in the lives of hurting people who need to hear the hope of Jesus and His incredible desire for a personal relationship with His creation. We are surrounded with amazing opportunities to serve Him and we want to bring Him glory and honor by the way we believe, live and surrender.
Have a blessed week!
