January 2009

January 14, 2009

What a season it has been!  We have had one busy time…

Let me give you the run down…

December had 17 concerts in Michigan and Ohio.  We were at Quest Community Church in Columbus, Ohio for the Christmas Eve service, which was great because Randy’s brother and family attend that church, so we were able to be with them for a few days.   The cousins were wild running through the house (the weather was too bad to be outside) expelling their pre-Christmas anticipation.

After the concert on the 24th, we high-tailed it back to Northville, Michigan and the little apartment that a dear friend had offered to us for the time in Michigan.  A fully furnished apartment with a place to park the RV was a great break from the camper and it gave us a wonderful place to celebrate Christmas with a tree and all the trimmings.

We enjoyed Christmas day and watched “The Nativity Story,” which is quickly becoming our favorite Christmas tradition.  Enjoying time with family and opening presents, good food and just relaxing was the menu for the day.  Mission accomplished.

Sunday, December 28th, found us (finally) at our home church, SoulQuest Ministries, in Waterford, Michigan.  We were so excited to be with our church family who prays for us constantly and has had such a hand in our ministry.  Their support and encouragement goes above and beyond what we have ever expected.  Thank you, SoulQuest!  The service was just awesome and Pastor Dave had two separate times of prayer where people just came forward and petitioned the Lord.  It just felt like home.  After saying goodbye to our dear friends and Pastors, we went to dinner with my folks and began the long journey southwest to escape the snow.

We arrived in San Diego, California at my sister’s apartment on December 31st, just in time for dinner with our west coast family.  Three teenage nieces and our two kids keep all four adults in stitches with their antics and adventures.  We enjoyed the weekend with our family before meeting up with Greg and Glenda Bostock from Blastoff Music Ministry (www.blastoffmusic.org.)  We are joining forces with the Bostocks for the months of January, February and the first two Sundays in March.  Mike and Janice Kennedy, who run sound and video and help in ways too numerous to mention, are also traveling with us.  Greg and Glenda have a thirteen year old daughter, Anna, which gives Kennedie a perfect buddy.  All three kids are getting along really well and all working hard with their home school work.

We have had two concerts together so far and the meshing is beginning to happen.  The whole concert is all four of us playing on mostly every song with testimonies sandwiched within the worship.  Greg and Glenda are great worship leaders and their heart is to submit to the Lord in every area of their lives.  We are really looking forward to the next couple of months.  Please pray for us and for God’s provision as we are still taking one offering for two ministries.  God is so faithful.

We hope that we are able to meet up with you somewhere on this tour….thank you for your support and encouragement!  Blessings to you!
