The last month has been filled with settling into a borrowed parsonage in Waterford, Michigan, our hometown.  Lifepoint Church has offered for us to use one of their two parsonages until they need it.  It could be just a few months or a year…we have no idea.  But, we do believe the Lord has given us this break from the RV at just the right time!  We are just about settled – just in time to leave for a two month tour!  But we will be returning to Michigan for most of the Fall until the New Year which gives us a wonderful place to make as our temporary base.

The highlight of our month was spending a few days ministering on Mackinac Island at the Bible Church with Pastor Ken and Lori Straight.  This time was planned long before our oldest niece took a job at the Grand Hotel as an accountant’s assistant.  The Lord prearranged all of this so beautifully!  Our service at the church went wonderfully and at least three people made first time commitments to Christ!  Many others asked the Lord to fill them in a new way and empower them with the Holy Spirit!  God’s presence was so very obvious – it was an honor to worship Him! 

We had to stay until Wednesday for a concert in Manistique, in the Upper Peninsula, so we were blessed to stay on the Island and it was fantastic!  Many of the youth that attend the church and spend their summers working on the island spent a lot of time with us.  We talked about their families, jobs, dreams, passions and whatever else was on their mind.  I was so grateful that the Lord used our time to the fullest even while we were biking around the Island with young adults who are seeking God.  We were encouraged!  Not to mention the time we were able to spend with Amber!  For the first time on her own…she is doing great!  She has chosen solid friends and is very responsible with her new employment.  Amber has gotten very involved in the church and is serving wherever she is able.  We are so proud of her! 

Last week and this Sunday we are worshipping with the good people at Lifepoint Church in Waterford.  Pastor Rick and his family are on vacation so we are filling in.  Please pray for our safety on the road and for our RV to run well as we will be travelling from South Dakota to Connecticut and back.  These are exciting days…
